  1. This Sunday my studio will be open to browse between 10am-3pm as it is the Hylands Open Estate Day. My studio is upstairs in a beautiful stables building. With lots of light from all the windows and the cosy calm feel I often have remarks of how beautiful it must be to work here and how fortunate I am (and I totally agree!!).

I began sewing with oilcloth many years ago in a small spare bedroom in my house, which then progressed when we moved to a workshop attached to the house and then just over two years ago moving to this beautiful studio, with other likeminded artists in the beautiful settings of Hylands Estate.

When you pop by the open day this Sunday, you may notice this cute apron standing proudly in the downstairs entrance to the studios. The apron was how Cosima's began - my first venture into sewing with oilcloth for my tiny daughter who wanted a cooking apron........

  2. It's October already, the leaves are starting to turn and the acorns falling from the trees.

I've been watching the squirrels collecting nuts and bouncing through the leaves. I love taking walks in the grounds my studio is set in at Hylands Estate in Chelmsford.

If you're local to the area or would like a trip out the next Open Day is on Sunday 20th October, enjoy a walk around the beautiful Hylands House, visit the foodie market outside the house and don't forget to visit the artists in the studios with The Stables area (I'm in one of the lovely upstairs studio's).

Another date for the diary - Christmas at The Stables is returning this year for two evenings in November -                                                     Wednesday and Thursday 20th & 21st November 5pm-9pm

If you can't make it to the studio on these dates, feel free to message me to arrange an appointment (all car park fees covered when visiting for workshops or appointments).

Over the next few weeks my lastest items with some amazing prints will be added to the website - watch this space.
